Srinagar, November 26 (KNO) : Apropos to a news item published in a news paper under heading “ Kathua jail returns ailing youth booked under PSA, now detained in Police Station Dooru”. In this regard it is clarified that Home department had quashed his PSA warrant vide their communication no. Home/PB-V/1368/ 2017 dated 25th of October. The copy of same was not received by the district police Anantnag. Precisely that was the reason person booked under preventive detention was not lodged by Kathua Jail. The reason that youth being ailing was sent back is totally false. Pertinent to mention that before lodgment in any jail necessary medical clearance is important and the same was provided by the hospital authorities. It is also clarified that the individual is not in the police custody as reported by the news paper. The ground of return from Kathua jail was procedural and not medical reasons. The medical condition is normal as per the reports available with us. It is requested before filing such report responsible newspaper should take police into account. The news published is as such rebutted (KNO)
